Childcare allowance
Up to €300 per month per child
Childcare is expensive. We pay up to €300 per month per child towards it – so that you can keep working. You apply once a year. Every 6 months, you send us confirmation of when your child was looked after. At the end of the year, you send us the invoice. In 2026, you can apply for July to December.

Who can get funding?
- You work in a hotel or restaurant.
- Your child is 15 or younger and lives with you in Austria.
- You earn no more than €2,700 gross per month.
- Your child goes to a crèche, kindergarten, after-school care or an approved childminder.
- You do not receive any other funding for these costs.
What you need for your application
- Photo ID (e.g. passport or identity card)
- Insurance data extract (Versicherungsdatenauszug) or employment contract and payslip
- Annual payslip (Jahreslohnzettel) or income tax assessment (Lohnsteuerbescheid)
- Registration certificates (Meldezettel) for you and your child
- Confirmation of the costs from the kindergarten or childminder
- Proof that the childcare is approved
At the end of the year, send us
- The invoice from the kindergarten or childminder for the whole year
- Annual payslip or income tax assessment for this year
- A confirmation of when your child was looked after
- The declaration again: I do not receive money from any other source for these costs
