Who can apply?
We support people who work in a hotel or restaurant – or who last worked in one. It does not matter whether you work in the kitchen, in service, in housekeeping or at reception, or whether you work full-time, part-time or in a marginal job (geringfügig).
Can you apply?
The following must apply to you:
You work in a hotel or restaurant.
Or you last worked in one. Hotels, inns, restaurants, cafés, bars and catering all count. If you are not sure, check your (last) employment record (Dienstzettel) or payslip.
You are allowed to work in Austria.
For travel costs: you must live in Austria.
If you want to claim travel costs, you must live in Austria. It does not matter whether it is your main or secondary residence.
The fund is open to everyone who meets the requirements.
Full-time, part-time or marginal employment. Your origin and native language do not matter — what counts is the sector you work in and your right to work in Austria.

Does my business qualify?
This refers to the type of business, not your occupation. Hotels, inns, guesthouses, holiday flats, campsites, restaurants, pubs, cafés, ice-cream parlours, snack bars, caterers, bars and clubs all count. If you are not sure, look for the collective agreement on your employment record (Dienstzettel) or payslip, or ask your boss.
